How do I start a project with CD&C?Send us the quote form or give us a call. We get back to you within one business day, arrange a free visit to see the space, and then send you a written estimate with the scope and timeline set out clearly. Is the first consultation really free?Yes. The consultation, the site visit and the estimate are free, and there is no obligation to go ahead. You only commit once you have the written estimate in front of you and you are happy with it.Which areas do you work in?We work across Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area. If you are just outside the GTA, get in touch anyway and we will tell you honestly whether we can take the job on.Can you help with the design and choosing materials?Yes. We help with layouts, finishes, colours, fixtures and materials, and we will tell you where spending more is worth it and where it is not.Can I renovate just one room?Of course. A single bathroom, one basement, one coat of paint through the house or a full renovation - the process is the same, only the scale changes.Do you take on commercial work?Yes, we take on commercial fit-outs and renovations alongside our residential work. Tell us about the space and the timeline when you contact us.

What services does CD&C offer?Basement remodels, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, home automation, interior and exterior painting, and waterproofing. Many projects combine several of these, and one team handles all of it.Can you finish a basement with a bathroom or a separate entrance?Yes. Basement bathrooms, kitchenettes, egress windows and separate entrances are all part of the work we do. These items need permits, and we take care of the drawings and the applications. Can you set up smart home technology during the renovation?Yes, and it is by far the best time to do it. While the walls are open we can run cabling for lighting, thermostats, cameras, door locks and networking, then configure everything and show you how it works.Do you do exterior painting as well as interior? We do both. Interior walls, ceilings, trim, doors and cabinets, and exterior siding, stucco, doors, decks and fences, prepared for the weather here.My basement gets water after heavy rain. Can you fix that?Yes. We start by finding out where the water is getting in - grading, downspouts, window wells, cracks or failed drainage - and then fix the cause with interior or exterior waterproofing, crack repair, drainage or a sump pump.Who does the plumbing and electrical work?Licensed trades, working to code and inspected where the permit requires it. You deal with one point of contact at CD&C rather than chasing several companies.

How long will my renovation take?It depends on the size of the job. A bathroom or a paint job is usually a matter of weeks, a basement or kitchen takes longer, and a whole-home renovation can run for several months. You get an expected timeline with your estimate. Can I stay in the house while the work is going on?In most cases yes, and we plan the work around that. For larger projects that take out a kitchen or the only bathroom, we will tell you up front where staying elsewhere for a period makes more sense. How do you keep the dust and mess under control?Dust barriers, floor and furniture protection, and a tidy-up at the end of every working day. It is your home, and we leave it liveable while the job is running. Will I know what is happening day to day?Yes. You have one point of contact who keeps you updated on progress, what is coming next and anything that needs a decision from you.Do I need a permit, and who arranges it?Structural changes, new bathrooms, basement apartments, egress windows and some electrical and plumbing work need permits in Toronto. Where a permit is needed we prepare the drawings, submit the application and build to what was approved. What happens if something unexpected turns up behind a wall?Older homes hide surprises: old wiring, rot, water damage. We stop, show you what we found, and give you the cost in writing before any extra work starts. Nothing is added to your bill without your approval.

How much does a renovation cost?It depends on the size of the space, the materials and how much has to change. That is why we visit before quoting: an estimate built on your actual space is worth far more than a number from a price list.Is the estimate itemised?Yes. You see what the work includes and what it excludes, so you can compare our estimate fairly against anyone else's.Are there hidden charges? No. The price we agree is the price you pay, unless you ask for changes or something unforeseen turns up - and in both cases you get the cost in writing and approve it before the work happens. How do payments work?Payments are tied to milestones in the project, and the full schedule is written into your contract before anything starts, so you always know what is due and when.Do you guarantee your work?Yes, our workmanship is covered by a warranty, and the manufacturers' warranties on materials and appliances are passed on to you. The exact terms are set out in your contract.Do your estimates include materials?Yes. Labour and materials are both covered in the estimate, and it says which finishes and fixtures the price is based on so you can see the effect of upgrading them.
